ITEC1010 | Information and Organization - Excel Project
Abstract: As one of the Information Technology (ITEC) students from York University, the course ITEC1010 was mandatory for us, and this was the project regarding information and organization by utilizing Excel. The project required us to collect data and organize them into different spreadsheets, which could demonstrate my Excel application skills. And, this is a starting point of database technology for me.
Excel Project 1: Commissions
The first project requires to make a commission for the TOP performer of the month. Raw data of Monthly sales, regions, properties sold, total sales and commissions accrued are given by the data collections. The task is to find property sold and commissions accrued that matches to certain top sales when the corresponding region is inputed. And, I'ved used MAX, LOOKUP, SUMIF and other functions to complete this searching project.
Excel Project 2: Staff Payroll
The second project leaves the raw data of Staff Payroll in a company. It is practical as we especially calculate the time employees work daily and their final monthly salary. I've used IF, SUM and concept of absolute reference to complete this project.
Excel Project 3: Mortgage Calculator
The third project shows a mortgage calculator. It is used for making a summary with interest, bi-weekly payment, total payment and total interest based on data of initial assumptions and result. I've used concepts of IFERROR and absolute reference to complete this project.
Excel Project 4: TOP IMDB Rated Movies Databases: Top10
The fourth project provides a data collection of movies, and the task is to find the information matched by a certain movie from the mini-database. This project would be useful to organize the library and bookstore system. And, I've sophisticated the concept of VLOOKUP to complete the project.
Excel Project 5: Tier Pricing
The fifth project is Tier Pricing, which means to determine whether a price is in the certain range. It is excellent project for company that needs to find total price in terms of purchase price schedule and quality of products or services. And, I've used ISNUMBER and the concept of nested IF to complete the project.
